Pierre Poilievre is a Canadian politician who currently serves as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the riding of Carleton. He has served as the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and the Minister of Employment and Social Development in the previous Stephen Harper government. In addition to his work as an MP, Pierre Poilievre has been an active member of the Conservative Party of Canada since joining it in 2002. He has held various positions throughout his career; he was Director of Communications for Prime Minister Stephen Harper from 2007 to 2008, and was minister responsible for the Economic Action Plan from 2011 to 2015. Over his time in politics, Pierre Poilievre has been involved with and championed initiatives that promote economic growth, public safety, fiscal responsibility and social justice. From proposing policy reforms to promoting and protecting families, he has worked diligently to ensure that the best interests of Canadians remain at the forefront of decisions made by the federal government.
